IIIT student stands first in space contest

Vijayawada: A student of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technology (RGUKT), Nuzvid Koti Reddy secured individual first prize in Grade 12 category at the National Space Society (NSS) Space Settlement Contest 2019.

The organisers announced results of the contest in which as many as 2,691 entries were received. The contest was administrated by NASA MS Research Centre. This year NSS took over administration at NASA's invitation and simultaneously made the contest a cloud based digital system using the award force contest software.

Koti Reddy submitted OPUS project which won the contest. Koti Reddy has to submit his papers on the same in USA at the NASA Ames Space settlement contest 2019 under Grade 12 category. The student belongs to Chipurupalli village of Vizainagaram district and his parents Reddy Ramanaidu and Kamala are farmers.

On this occasion, the college director Dr Suryachandra Rao, AO Sunil Bhagath and others appreciated Koti Reddy and his guides for getting the result in the national event. Reddy seeks donors to participate in the international event to be held in USA as he belongs to a poor agricultural family.
