Aurobindo management exploiting workers: CITU

Srikakulam: CITU State vice-president Duppala Govinda Rao on Thursday accused the management of Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals LTD of exploiting the workers by paying meagre salaries to them. 

The workers of Aurobindo observed a half-naked protest under the aegis of CITU in front of the company outgate at Pydibhimavaram on Thursday.  Speaking on the occasion, Duppala Govinda Rao said the company management has been neglecting its workers genuine demands for the last one year. 

He said the company was polluting water, soil and air by discharging its emissions and did not allotted funds for the development of 12 affected villages in Ranastalam mandal.

The company was also not allotting funds under the corporate social responsibility for development works, he alleged. Even qualified local youth were also denied jobs in the company and contract workers have no job security, he added.

To solve all these issues, the company workers will observe one-day strike on December 11 to mount pressure on the management, he explained. CITU division leader P Tejeswara Rao, Aurobindo company workers union leaders S Appala Raju, K Sankara Rao and others attended the dharna.
