Aurobindo workers to launch hunger stir from tomorrow
Srikakulam: Workers of Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals planned to launch a massive agitation to achieve their demands against the management from November 25 under the aegis of CITU. CITU State vice-president Duppala Govinda Rao released a poster regarding the workers agitation in front of Aurobindo company at Pydibhimavaram in Ranastalam mandal on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Govinda Rao said that the workers will organise hunger strike in all villages in Ranastalam mandal from November 25. The workers are demanding better facilities and hike in salaries on par with increased market rates of essentials, he said and demanded the management to provide jobs to locals and develop all 12 affected villages under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme.
Workers have been requesting the management for the last several years to solve their demands but the management intentionally delaying it, he charged. CITU local leaders P Tejeswara Rao, Aurobindo workers union leaders S Seetharama Raju, Ch Sekhar also participated.
