Aurobindo workers to go on strike from May 21

Srikakulam: Aurobindo Pharmaceutical Company workers organised 'get together' under the aegis of CITU at Pydibhimavaram industrial area in Ranastalam mandal on Saturday with an aim to get support of all workers and other workers unions of various companies. The Aurobindo workers have decided to go on strike for two days on May 21 and 22 to press their demands.

Speaking on the occasion, CITU State vice-president Duppala Govinda Rao and division secretary P Tejeswara Rao said the management has been neglecting the workers' demands for the last 14 months even after receiving notice from workers. They have chalked out agitation activities before going to strike and to get public support, they organised 'get together.'

As per resolutions made in 'get together,' they will organise kneel down protest on May 13, bike rallies in all surrounding villages to get their support on May 15, protests in sea water on May 17, form human chains on May 18 and begging at public places highlighting their plight on May 19 and on May 20, a wide range publicity activity organised in support of strike.

CITU leader NV Ramana, representatives of various unions M Appalanarasayya, B Ramakrishna, P Rama Rao and K Raja Rao attended the get together. Anganwadi workers and helpers' union, midday meal workers and organisers union, Aasha workers union, building workers union, Dr Reddy's Laboratory and workers of other unions expressed their support to Aurobindo workers union employees.
