Collector moots zero death rate at Institute of Pregnant Women
Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna has mooted zero deaths at the Institute of Pregnant Women (IPW) by improving the standards in patient care. Speaking at the Hospital Development Society (HDS) meeting of Ruia Hospital, SV Medical College and Maternity Hospital here on Friday, he directed the Superintendent of IPW Dr V Bhavani to take steps so that pregnant women and child deaths should come to zero level.
The rents for paying rooms in IPW should be fixed and made available for the needy. Taking into consideration the frequent repairs to air conditioners in Ruia Hospital, Collector has suggested to the Superintendent Dr B Sidda Naik to call short tenders for annual maintenance of them which should be completed within a week.
He went round the IPW and Children’s Hospital and inspected the wards. APMSIDC EE T Nagesh, RMO Dr U Srihari, HDS member Chinna Babu and others took part.
