Tributes paid to departed ex-IAS officer: Collector
Anantapur: Senior ex-IAS officer B N Yugandhar, a native of the district was a highly progressive officer, who worked for the poor and downtrodden all through his life, observed local MLA Anantha Venkatarami Reddy.
Speaking at the condolence meeting at the Collector's chamber here on Saturday, Venkatarami Reddy said Yugandhar worked in PMO's office as special secretary during Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao's tenure and during that time he was instrumental in bringing lot of funds and schemes for the drought stricken district.
The MLA recalled that it was during his father's tenure as MP, he did great service to the district. He brought special schemes for the district which is ranked second in lowest rainfall after Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. He was well known for his values of honesty and integrity.
As the father of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, he had contributed greatly to the furtherance of information technology by giving to the world a great IT technician.
As someone who served as Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration at Mussoorie in Uttarakhand, he was instrumental in moulding many into good IAS officers.
He was also the architect in bringing into implementation the Rs 2 a kilo rice scheme during the chief ministership of N T Rama Rao. Yugandhar was a great administrative officer of par excellence. District Collector S Sathyanarayana also spoke. Joint Collector Dilly Rao and municipal commissioner Prashanthi were present.
