Master Plan for Puttaparthi development proposed in Anantapur
Anantapur: District Collector S Sathyanarayana stated that Puttaparthi, the abode of late Sathya Sai Baba, will be developed as an International Tourist Spiritual destination. A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared soon and the state government will send it to the central government for financing the project, he said.
The Collector convened a meeting in this regard and Puttaparthi MLA D Sridhar presided over it. The town will be developed on the lines of Icon City in Mantralaya. Sathya Sai National Park, Underground drainage and under-ground power cables, a Ring road, R&B circuit guest house, Food Park and Yoga Wellness Centre development will be part of the Rs 1,000 crore project, the Collector said.
APIIC will provide 100 acres of land for Food Park and already some parties have evinced interest in investing on Food Park. Roads and Buildings department will be investing Rs.350 crores on the 31.5 km Ring road development covering Manillakunta Cross, Kothacheruvu, Puttaparthi and Bukkapatnam mandals.
Already 60 acres have been identified for the Yoga Wellness Centre. Chitravati river-bed beautification will also be part of the Greater Puttaparthi Develpment. A 33 KV sub-station is also proposed in the Puttaparthi town, he added.
