Plea to appoint Hindu as TTD chairman

Guntur: AP Brahmana Chaitainya Vedika state vice-president Siripurapu Sridhar on Friday said it is not proper to appoint a person from other religions as TTD chairman and it will hurt the sentiments of the Hindus.

In a statement, he recalled that when the TDP government appointed Putta Sudhakar Yadav as TTD chairman, it became controversy and representatives of Hindu Dharmika Samsta protested. He urged the government to appoint Hindu person as TTD chairman and to respect the feelings and sentiments of Hindus.

Meanwhile, former MP Y V Subba Rao whose name is proposed for TTD chairman post said he belongs to Hindu religion and added that some persons are making false propaganda against him. He denied the allegations that he represents non-Hindu religion.
