TDP leader Rayapati may join BJP
Tirumala: The BJP Operation Akarsh is attracting many prominent leaders in the two Telugu states. Immediately after coming into power for the second time in the center, the BJP is trying to take the place of the main Opposition parties in the Telugu states.
The party is strengthening its carder to become the dominant force to attack the ruling party in the next Assembly elections in the two states. Particularly the BJP is moving its steps to attract the TDP leaders with Operation Kamal.
After the bitter defeat in the 2019 elections, the TDP is centre facing the setback one after the another. Recently in Rajya Sabha, the TDP members have merged with the BJP.
It's in the news that the Guntur senior leader Rayapati Sambasiva Rao will also say goodbye to the TDP and join the BJP. Regarding this, he has given clarity over changing the party. Rayapati said he would join the BJP very soon.
Rayapati has joined the TDP with the hope of getting the TTD chairman post. However, in the political equations that position has gone to Putta Sudhakar Yadav. With this, Rayapati was upset on the TDP. Now, after seeing the right time, he is getting ready to join the BJP.
On the other side, it's known that the BJP general secretary Ram Madhav visited Rayapati Sambasiva Rao at his residence two days ago. On the occasion, Rayapati has hosted a dinner to the BJP leaders.
The BJP is thinking to strengthen the party with the joining of Rayapati Sambasiva Rao who has strong cadre in Guntur district.
