AP Govt hatching conspiracy to abolish the Brahmin corporation, says Siripurapu Sridhar
In a statement, he said that the government did not release scholarships to the poor Brahmin students for the academic year 2019-20 so far. He expressed doubt the government abolished the scholarships and recalled that the AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation had sanctioned pensions to all the eligible aged people, irrespective of number of beneficiaries from a family. The convenor expressed that if the pensions were merged in the YSR Pension Kanuka, only one person in the family would get pension.
He recalled that the then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had set up Brahmin Welfare Corporation in 2015 to help the poor Brahmins. He criticised that though government hiked YSR pension from Rs.2000 to Rs.2,250, the government did not hike pension to the Brahmins during the last eleven months. He demanded the government to allocate funds to the AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation and implement the schemes.
