Plastic carry bags seized, users fined

Kakinada: Four teams of sanitary officials conducted raids on outlets of both wholesale and retail traders and seized 40 kilos of plastic carry bags and imposed penalties to the tune of Rs 16,000 on Thursday.

In this connection, the sanitary officials asked the trading community to desist from either using or selling plastic carry bags as part of measures initiated for protection of environment. They appealed to the traders to use cloth bags instead and protect environment.
