Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have seen three generations released in India in less than two years. The Gen 3 model has just launched at ₹44,300, introducing new frame styles and improved battery life. Here is a comparison of the three generations.

Each generation has cost approximately 5,000 to 10,000 rupees more than the previous one at the time of launch. Notably, Meta continues to sell the second generation in India even after the launch of the third, so buyers on a tighter budget still have that option available.

Battery life has seen the biggest leap between generations. The second generation doubled what the first offered, and the third adds another hour to that figure.

The main audio improvement in the third generation is the addition of an extra microphone, bringing the total count from five to six for clearer voice capture. Meta has also announced that, later this year, its glasses will feature Dolby Atmos-style spatial audio recording; this will allow the direction of sounds to be better perceived during video playback.

The third generation is the first to go beyond the Wayfarer-style silhouette, incorporating an aviator-style frame and the new Zena style, as well as adjustable temple tips for a more personalized fit.
Storage, connectivity and other specs
All three generations share a common foundation: 32 GB of flash storage, Wi-Fi 6 or 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as IPX4-rated splash resistance. Meta AI remains the core software component across all three models, handling voice commands, real-time translation, hands-free calling and messaging, and content capture.

The third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses have been available in India since September 24 via Ray-Ban.com and select optical stores nationwide; they are offered in Wayfarer, Aviator, and Zena frame styles, with lens options including clear, polarised, and Transitions.
