State BJP leaders dared the Congress and TRS to respond to the claims made by the All India MajliseIttehadul Muslimeen AIMIM that they would remotecontrol the government if either of them comes to power in the forthcoming State Assembly elections
Hyderabad: State BJP leaders dared the Congress and TRS to respond to the claims made by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) that they would remote-control the government if either of them comes to power in the forthcoming State Assembly elections.
Addressing the media separately here on Sunday, State BJP president Dr K Laxman and State official spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao asked people of the State to defeat the evil designs of the Majlis to control the government which will be elected by them through backdoor.
Terming Congress, TRS and Majlis the birds of the same feather, Laxman said the Majlis leaders Akbaruddin Owaisi and Asadduddin Owaisi had made it clear that they were really steering the TRS government in the State. Giving further credence to the same, Akbaruddin Owaisi claimed that his party would show its power after the declaration of results on December 11.
He said that BJP alone can oppose the designs of MIM to subvert the verdict of the people of the State. In particular, he asked voters of the Hyderabad to think twice before voting to Congress and TRS, as it will help only the Majlis, he added.
Referring to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi assuring to grant special status to Andhra Pradesh if Congress comes to power at the Centre, Laxman asked, “If Congress had such an affection towards people of AP, then why it had not given legal backing to the special status at the time of passing the AP Re-organisation Bill in 2014?” Asking people of AP to think over the double standards of Congress, the BJP State president said, “The very demand for separate statehood was the result of the injustices meted out to the people of Telangana during the five decades of Congress rule in the State.”
He said that nearly 360 in the first phase and another 1,400 young people had to sacrifice their lives in the later phases of Telangana’s struggle for Statehood. He said the Congress was forced to table the Telangana Bill in the Parliament only when BJP had given in writing that it would support the Bill, he reminded. He said that UPA chairperson cannot fool people of the State with her dramatics of nursing a “mother and children sentiment to garner votes to come back to power in the State.”
Krishna Saagar Rao said that the first public meeting of Sonia Gandhi at Medchal looked like she was going according to a script given by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. It was to please the TDP chief that the UPA chairperson had announced that Congress will accord special status to AP. “People attending the meeting were at loss not knowing whether she was addressing an election meeting of Telangana or of the neighbouring State,” he said. Terming TRS a B-team of Congress party, Rao asked people that whether they wanted a government remote controlled by TDP chief and Majlis or BJP which stands for the welfare and development of all sections of the State?
