Vijayawada: Minister for Law and Justice, Youth Services and Sports Kollu Ravindra stressed the need for better coordination between the police and pubic prosecutors for speedy trial of cases. He said that the culprits should not be left scot-free and the officials should adopt new technology to contain crime rate.

Kollu Ravindra pointed out that the offenders are using advanced technology. Similarly, cyber crimes are on the rise, he said.
He said the police should file charge sheet in such a manner that the culprits should be brought to justice.

Kollu Ravindra was the chief guest for the interaction session conducted on ‘Emerging legal trends for the police personnel and public prosecutors’ at Alapati Dharma Rao Hall in Hanuman Pet in the city. Deputy Director of prosecutions Byra Ramakoteswara Rao presided over the interaction session. Minister Kollu Ravindra asked the police personnel to speed up the investigations so that the culprits will be punished.

Byra Ramakoteswara Rao said that collection of evidence is key to prove the cases. He said crime trends are changing very rapidly so the officials should adopt new technology.

Commissioner of Police D Gautam Sawang said the police should understand the technical issues and improve the quality of professionalism. He suggested to the investigation police officers to master the evidence and cautioned the police that nature of crime is changing rapidly and police should update their knowledge and investigation procedures.

He said sharing of knowledge between the police personnel and public prosecutors is necessary and it would help to resolve many cases. Deputy commissioners of Police Kanti Rana Tata, Gajarao Bhupal and others spoke on the occasion. Public prosecutors felicitated Kollu Ravindra on the occasion.
