NIPER workshop to bridge skills shortage in pharma
The workshop is designed to impart the skills required for all pharma professionals for effectively performing duties in different departments, including manufacturing, quality control, quality assurance, regulatory filing and marketing.
Balanagar: In order to upgrade the skills of professionals in pharmaceutical industry and also make pharmacy graduates acquainted with industry practices, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hyderabad (NIPER-H), in collaboration with Pharmaceuticals Export promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) and National Institute of Biologicals (NIB), launched a six-day workshop on "Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)" on Friday. Module I workshop will be held up to October 13 and Module II will be conducted from October 18 to 20 at NIPER Hyderabad campus.
The workshop is designed to impart the skills required for all pharma professionals for effectively performing duties in different departments, including manufacturing, quality control, quality assurance, regulatory filing and marketing. The proposed workshop is also aiming to educate the technical people of pharma industry and the academia about the avenues and challenges in export markets.
The workshop will be of great use to those who want to upgrade existing skills or obtain new skills. It will bring the industry-academia on a common platform to discuss various technical and professional skills that industry expects from a pharmacy graduates. Discussions & hands on training will focus on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS), besides other areas like regulatory filing and market opportunities & challenges. The course is presented in an open, interactive manner, encouraging discussion throughout. It will create awareness about the present scenario of development of drug standards and to better understand the regulatory aspects.
The target groups for the program are Pharma professionals, working in the industry (Manufacturing, Quality Control and Quality Assurance & Regulatory personnel), Academia (graduates, post graduates, research students of pharmacy, science, applied sciences, technology and engineering and academicians) and technical persons from drug regulatory authority.
Eminent resource persons from the NIPER-Mohali, NIB, CDSCO, DCA, Pharmexcil and experts from industry will deliver talks during the workshop. The workshop will be inaugurated by M Madan Mohan Reddy, Whole Time Director, Aurobindo Pharma, Dr Shashi Bala Singh, director, NIPER Hyderabad, and Udaya Bhaskar, director general, Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil).
