Khairtabad Ganesh : History and Why it is Famous

The History of Khairtabad began in the year 1954 when freedom fighter S. Shankaraiah installed a small one foot Ganesh idol to celebrate Vinayaka chaturthi with the local people. Initially the festival began as a simple religious gathering. Devotees came from the city to offer prayers and celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha. Over the years, the celebration grew and gained immense popularity attracting devotess from within the state as well as outside the state.

Despite heavy rains, devotees are queueing in lines so that they can get a glimpse of the iconic 69-ft-tall Panchamukha Sankatahara Maha Ganapathi at the Khairatabad pandal on Monday. The venue remains packed as a massive crowd continues to visit the pandal. Both Ganesh Utsav Committee as well as local police jointly have organised lines to help devotees seek the blessing of Lord Ganesha and remove all obstacles in their lives and achieve success and growth.

A 50 Kg Laddu has been prepared in Tapeswaram, East Godavari district, and it is offered to the Khairatabad Ganesh idol today. While preparing the Laddu to the Lord Ganesha, artisans observed Ganapati Deeksha and the laddu reached on time without any transit delay.

Sri Bhakthanjaneya’s Suruchi Food units, proprietor from Tapeswaram, PVVS Mallikarjuna Rao, starting from 2010 has begun the tradition of presenting a free laddu to Khairatabad Ganesh and has since offered laddus of varied sizes each year.

Mr. Rao further added, Tapaeswaram laddu weighing around 30 KG would also be offered to Hydeabad Police Academy.Khairtabad Ganesh is famous hugely due to gigantic idol size and also due to its aura, ambience and not to forget people’s immense faith in Lord Ganesh, he would bless them abundantly with all good things in life.

How to reach there

One can book the cab or bike to khairtabad Ganesh; you can take public transport such as buses. Free busses have been arranged. You can also very well take your vehicle but it would tough time to search for parking place
