Students gain first-hand exposure during learning programme
Indian students completed a multi-city learning programme in the United States, travelling through Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco.
Organised by the India International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.), the programme gave students opportunities to engage directly with professionals from science, technology, business, academia and public policy. The interactions were aimed at helping participants understand how institutions and organisations operate beyond what they encounter through classrooms, textbooks and lectures.
Students participated in discussions with Nobel Prize-winning virologist Charles M. Rice, National Geographic Society CEO Jill Tiefenthaler, entrepreneur and investor Vinod Khosla and television host Jimmy Fallon.
The programme also included visits to universities including Harvard, MIT, Stanford, NYU and Dartmouth, as well as the United Nations, NASA, World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Students also visited several technology, business and media organisations.
For some participants, the programme provided their first opportunity to travel outside India and interact with professionals and institutions in an international setting.
The tour follows I.I.M.U.N.’s 2025 USA programme.
A Switzerland study tour involving 50 Indian students is planned for later in 2026.
