Government embarks on development of Tadepalli, Mangalagiri municipalities : CM

Vijayawada: Though the entire Amaravati capital location has lost its sheen during the last four months, the two mandals, especially Tadepalli and Mangalagiri, which are close to the residence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has assumed significance.
The State government has already prepared elaborate plans to merge some neighbouring villages with the Tadepalli and Mangalagiri municipalities to boost their importance. The State government has already earmarked Rs 1,500 crore for development of two municipalities, while the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is making plans for their development.
The Chief Minister constructed a house at Tadepalli almost a year ago. All the 29 villages in Amaravati capital location maintained their importance after the YSR Congress government came to power.
Later, when the State government formed a committee to review the capital construction works and location, the Amaravati capital villages lost their sheen. The villages in the region of Tadepalli and Mangalagiri gained prominence.
According to sources, the top five leaders in YSR Congress also purchased the costliest villas in the vicinity of the Chief Minister. The stalling of Amaravati capital construction works also helped enhance the significance of the two municipalities of Tadepalli and Mangalagiri.
Already the CRDA officials have made plans to widen the road near the residence of the Chief Minister. All the houses which were constructed illegally on the bund of the Buckingham canal will be removed soon.
The State government wants to widen the road width to 100 feet by removing the houses on the canal bund. The road will be widened up to the Revendrapadu village in Guntur district. Similarly, four bridges would be constructed on Buckingham canal between Tadepalli and Revendrapadu.
Similarly, the 100- feet road would be constructed on the Buckingham canal bund towards Tadepalli which is on the other side of the residence of the Chief Minister. Another important road from Kunchanapalli pumping scheme to Chirravuru village would be widened up to 100 feet under the purview of Tadepalli mandal. The State government has already decided to merge Kunchanapalli, Praturu, Gundimeda, Vaddeswaram and Ippatam villages with Tadepalli municipality.
The State government also wants to construct a mega housing project under the limits of the Mangalagiri municipality. The plans are being prepared in this regard. The main roads and beautification work will also be taken up in the municipal limits.
Following these developments, the entire area is getting some importance and the lands in the area still enjoy some demand in the market in spite of slump in real estate market. In all, it appears that the two municipalities are set to witness development as the Chief Minister's priority area and his residence is the centre of attraction, a close aide of Mangalagiri MLA said.
