Warangal: Week-long faculty development programme at KITSW concludes
Warangal: The week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 'Recent Advances in Electrical Engineering (RAEE-2019)' is one such a platform that focuses on the latest technical applications, Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science Warangal (KITSW) Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said.
Speaking at the valedictory of the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE)-sponsored FDP organised by the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) here on Saturday, he said that the programme would also help the faculty recharge themselves.
"It is a technical platform to share and learn new innovations in recent advances in electrical engineering," Ashoka Reddy said, congratulating the KITSW EEE department for completion of 25 years of excellence.
The chief guest Prof D M Vinod Kumar of NIT Warangal, said that the main objective of the FDP is electrical energy generation from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind are widely adopted increase in electricity consumption. The integration of renewable energy sources with the grid plays an important role in energy utilisation, he added.
Speaking on this occasion, the Head and Prof C Venkatesh, the programme allows participants acquire the knowledge regarding multilevel inverters for renewable energy, power quality issues for integration of RES, optimal design of electric vehicle charging stations, smart grid, application of electrical drives in electrical vehicles and hands on session on software tools like MATLAB, PSIM and MIPower.
FDP Coordinators - Prof V Rajagopal and Dr D Rakesh Chandra, ISTE Council member Prof K Rajanarender Reddy, ISTE KITSW Chapter Chairman Prof K V Raghu Babu and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary were among others present.
