Warangal: Call to acquire technical know-how

Warangal: Acquiring technical know-how is paramount to engineering students to excel in their academics, K Ashoka Reddy, Principal, Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), said. Addressing the B Tech freshers here on Wednesday, he emphasised the need for focusing on academics and as well as on the fast-paced technical developments the world is witnessing.

"We have been focusing on parameters such as innovation, incubation, research and entrepreneurship. This apart, we have been training the students in problem solving ability, critical thinking, self-motivation, communication skills, mental and physical fitness and ethics," Reddy said.

'We are also conducting an induction training programme for first year students on life skills for their all-round development in accordance with the AICTE guidelines.' The principal concluded "Skill makes a best fit engineer in the industry, Master them".

According to the Dean, Academic Affairs Prof V Rajagopal, the main objective of the programme is to introduce faculty, lab facilities and classrooms to the B Tech first year students. He said that the students need to focus on communication skills, teamwork, innovative thinking, technical knowledge, managerial competence,

interactive abilities and strong HR base.

Training and Placement Officer Prof Srikanth Pabba said that a total of 571 students

got placements in various MNCs in the campus placement drives during the last academic year.

Associate Dean M Raghuram, faculty in-charge Dr M Raju, Controller of Examinations Prof K Rajanarender Reddy, Additional Controller B Kiran Kumar, Coordinators & HoD of PSS Prof T Madhukar Reddy, HoD of M&HS Dr K Shivashankar and students were present.
