Team India continued to maintain their ascendancy in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

Starting Day 2 at 86/1, the hosts added 19 quick runs before losing half centurion CheteshwarPujara to Abu Jayed. Skipper Virat Kohli too followed suit and was dismissed for a duck on his second ball to leave the Indore crowd in utter disbelief.

While Bangladesh might have sensed an opportunity of making a comeback in the game with India three down for 119, the case was not to be as opener Mayank Agarwal joined hands with Vice-captain AjinkyaRahane to forge a formidable partnership. The duo put on an incredible 190-run stand for the fourth wicket to leave the Bangladeshis reeling for the best part of the day. The partnership though was broken in the 86th over when Abu Jayed sent Rahane packing for a well-made 86.

The day, however, belonged to Mayank Agarwal. Extending his form from the South African series, the Karnataka batsman dazzled the spectators with a superlative double century. Treating the opposition with disdain, Agarwal stood as the chief wrecker of Bangladesh's deflated bowling line-up. Slamming a stunning 243 that included 28 boundaries and 8 massive sixes, the Indian opener departed to a standing ovation from the stadium.

Post Agarwal's departure, the mantle was taken over by Ravindra Jadeja. Continuing to impress with his batting skills, the all-rounder scored yet another half-century to pile agony on the visitors.

Wicketkeeper Saha couldn't amount to much and was dismissed by pacer Ebadat Hossain for just 12 runs. However, offering no respite to MominulHaque and his men, Umesh Yadav chipped in with a blistering cameo to entertain the crowd. The man from Vidarbha struck a few lusty blows to reach 25 off 10 balls as he set the ground alight towards the day's play.

India ended Day 2 at 493/6 to take the driver's seat with a daunting lead of 343 runs.
