Turn Harkerbavi veg market to Rythu Bazaar: Locals

Khammam: Leaders of various political parties here on Monday demanded that the government hand over the vegetable market situated at Harkerbavi Centre under Khammam Three Town to Rythu Bazaar and make the best use of the market.

Activists of various political parties staged a dharna in front of the vegetable market under the leadership of the Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPM) Three Town secretary Tukashala Lingaiah.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders alleged that the vegetable market that was established under Khammam Municipal Corporation was not in use for the past several months.

Following a number of agitations carried out by various political parties for establishment of the vegetable market in Harkerbavi Centre, the Municipal Corporation had set up the market but for the past few months, the market has not been utilised due to the lack of proper supervision by the municipal officials, they pointed out. To make the vegetable market of Harkerbavi Centre useful, the corporation officials must handover the market to Rythu Bazsar, they demanded.

CPM leaders Yerra Srikanth, B Yakaiah, Srinivas Rao, Veerababu, B Ramana Reddy, S Sudheer, M Lingaiah, Congress leaders Balagangadhar Tilak, T Hanumanth Rao, J Ramana, Lions Club Chairman K Gopal, P Naga Sulochana, Premchand, S K Pasha, Madhu, Suribabu, Nageshwar Rao, Ramesh, Naveen, Prasanna and Rambabu were present along with others.
