The Corporator-elect of Bharathi Nagar division 111, Shindu Adharsh Reddy, won for the second time with 11,565 votes on the TRS ticket against the nearest rival Godhavari Chinnamile (BJP), who received 6,905 votes.

Her foremost priority in this term would be to develop the Rythu Bazaar in Bombay Colony for which Rs 3 crore was sanctioned by the government. "Work would start shortly. Also, we are planning a model Rythu Bazaar that would have all facilities. It will have sections for non- vegetarian, vegetable and fruit shops.

Highlighting the development activities of the last term, Shindu said almost 90 per cent of roads and underground drainage work have been complete. The rest could not be taken up. Damaged internal roads and HT wires posing danger to residents were the two major issues that have been resolved. Transformers were shifted from the middle of road in Bombay Colony and slum areas.

Also, an RO plant has been installed in the slum area so that there should not be any water problem for the residents. "Nearly Rs.100 crore worth development works have been done in the last term. With the support of MLA Mahipal Reddy and MP K Prabhaker Reddy I could commence the development works in the last term. This time I am expecting the same support," she explained.

Shindu said within days of the GHMC elections, all leftover work of internal roads in colonies, along with UGD, began in the division. "Thanks to the immense support of people, I was able to win with a huge majority. As they placed faith in me for the second time, I want to focus on development of slums and bringing infrastructure to underdeveloped areas," she added.
