Zoo reverberates with save wildlife slogans
Bahadurpura: Over 150 students from Pallavi International School, Gandipet visited Nehru Zoological Park and marked their visit by conducting an event on ‘Save Wildlife, Protect Wildlife and Conserve Wildlife’. They chanted slogans, holding placards during the event which was organised at the children’s park area inside the zoo premises on Wednesday.
Later, Shivani Dogra, curator, Nehru Zoological Park, participated in the programme as the chief guest. Congratulating the students who participated in the programme, she said that it was necessary to understand what sustainability truly means and it was also important to inculcate environment-friendly habits to lead a green lifestyle. She appealed to the students to follow guidelines in daily life.
Shivani called upon the students to help in conservation activities in their surroundings, participate in the environment awareness activities, wise use of resources like paper, fuel etc, efficient use of water & energy at home, to avoid use of plastic bags while shopping, remain a responsible tourist by practicing eco-tourism, avoid littering around during travel, plant trees in their localities, protect wildlife & forests and appreciate nature and keep vigilance on surrounding nature destruction, inform concerned authorities. M Komaraiah, chairman, Arogya Mary, principal, Mukeshwari Yadav, PRO of the school and HM Hanifulla, PRO, Nehru Zoological Park participated in the event.
