More water allocation sought for filling tanks

Anantapur: A district-level CPI delegation led by district secretary D Jagadish and district Rythu Sangam president and secretary C Mallikarjun and A Katamaiah respectively met District Collector Veera Pandian and urged him to hike the allocation of Krishna water from 0.8 tmcft to 3 tmcft for filling the 49 village tanks. 

They stated that the allotted 0.8 tmcft of water is too meagre as such the allocation has to be increased to 3 tmcft. The Collector, who heard the CPI delegation, promised to take up the issue with the government.
