EVMs in strongrooms under security
Anantapur: Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) containing people's verdict have been shifted to the strongrooms in JNTUA campus under tight police security and under the supervision of District Collector Veera Pandian and SP GVG Ashok Kumar here on Friday.
The EVMs were shifted in the presence of an election observer R Jaya to the strongrooms. All the EVMs from the seven Assembly segments of Uravakonda, Singanamala, Tadipatri, Anantapur Urban, Rayadurgam etc.
Speaking to reporters at the strong room venue, Pandian said free and fair polling was held in the district. All the EVMs containing votes of Anantapur Parliamentary constituency voters and that of Hindupur have been safeguarded by central and state police in SKU and JNTU. These EVMs have been safeguarded separately in Anantapur and Hindupur towns and were sealed by the Collector in the presence of all district election officers.
