Heli tourism to be introduced in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram:  East Godavari Collector Karthikeya Misra has said that Heli Tourism will be introduced shortly in the district. Because of an increase in number of tourists, it was decided to allow Heli Tourism to attract them.

Speaking to reporters at airport here on Thursday, he said in the first phase, three routes were identified. The choppers start from the airport and returns after completion of site seeing.

The first route is Rajamahendravaram City, Gamman Bridge, Arch Bridge, Road-cum-rail bridge and returns to airport. The second route is Antervedi, Yanam, Corangi, Hope Island and the third route is Polavaram Project and picturesque Papi Hills.

Three helicopters would be pressed into service and the number would be increased as per the rush. The ticket fare and other things would be fixed later. He hoped that Heli Tourism would be a successful attempt.

Kunal Air Choppers company came forward to operate the choppers, he added.

Later, the Collector went to see the routes with the officials in the chopper.

Airport director M Raj Kishore, Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma and others were present.
