High alert on flood in force in East Godavari district
Rajamahendravaram: Collector Karthikeya Misra has said that special care was taken relating to relief operations for flood evacuees in the district. About 3,000 people were shifted to relief centres, he announced.
Briefing about the relief operations to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the airport here on Wednesday, he said food, drinking water etc were being provided in the relief camps along with medical aid.
In Devipatnam mandal, satellite phone was kept ready to get and pass information about floods. “At present, there is threat with the flood and still high alert is in force.
Officials of all departments are directed to be available in their headquarters,” he added. Earlier, Naidu inspected flood hit areas through aerial survey along with Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa.
