1,390 Grama Sabhas under Janmabhoomi

Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra has revealed information relating to Janmabhoomi on Thursday. Mishra informed that 1,390 Grama Sabhas were held in 1,035 Grama Panchayats and 355 urban wards so far in the district.

The Collector also said that as a part of the welfare schemes, as many as 11,167 ration cards, 78,098 scholarships and 449 houses were distributed through the Grama Sabhas in the fifth phase of Janbmabhoomi programme until now. Mishra said that they had successfully cleared the claims of Chandranna Bima Padhakam worth Rs 52.31 crore and disbursed Rs 59.28 crore to 93,618 beneficiaries through the Labour Department.

Mishra said that in the 10 days of Janmabhoomi programme, they had identified 336 persons to extend medical benefits under NTR Aarogya Seva scheme. He informed that 1,256 veterinary camps were conducted in the Grama Sabhas so far and treated 1,07,653 cattle, 66,795 sheep and 28,217 calves in the district.

Mishra further informed that on the 9th day of the Janmabhoomi on January 10, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu attended the Grama Sabha at Cheyyeru Gunnepalli village and laid foundations and distributed the welfare scheme cheques to the beneficiaries.

The Collector revealed that all the MLAs and Ministers had been actively participating in Janmabhoomi along with the government officials. Collector claimed that the Grama Sabhas of the fifth phase of Janmabhoomi were successful so far.
