Officials told to finish drain works by May 25

Secunderabad: GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore has ordered the engineering officers to complete all the repair works of the drainages in the wake of the coming monsoon by May 25. A review meeting was held on the engineering works at Secunderabad Zonal Office on Monday. In-charge Chief Engineer Ashwin Kumar, Zonal Commissioner Raghu Prasad and executive engineers attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Dana Kishore said that even though the approvals for the work were given a month ago, the tenders were not fulfilled in some areas. The tender process should be completed by May 20, he said, and asked the officials to conduct regular inspections on the work and not to allow any kind of irregularities in this regard.

In many places, the repair works of drainages that cannot be done manually would be done through required machinery. As part of the road maintenance, repair works should be taken up at required places and should ensure roads without potholes, he said. Works of PPP roads should be completed by May, he added
