Staff role critical

Commissioner Dana Kishore has decided to utilise GHMC employees such as valuation officers, tax inspectors and bill collectors in property tax collections from this financial year. Earlier, tax payers used to pay their property taxes at GHMC citizen service centres, online and MeeSeva centres. The staff primarily used to collect property taxes from non-residential property owners.

The Commissioner issued clear instructions to zonal commissioners to focus on property tax collections from non-residential properties as well this financial year and set daily targets. Bill collectors and MeeSeva centres have already started collecting taxes from Monday. Dana Kishore appealed to the residents of the city to avail the early bird opportunity and get a rebate 5 per cent in their property taxes.
