Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore has announced that steps will be taken to complete the land acquisition in various areas in Charminar zone for a few projects and road expansion works. In the next three months, the roads at Charminar zone will be having a significant change.
Commissioner Dana Kishore said that the construction of several flyovers and underpasses in the city of Hyderabad, under the first phase of the SRDP, was undertaken with the amount of Rs 6,000 crore. He explained that there was an expansion of 12 major roads in the Old City, including those at Bahadurpura, Owaisi Junction, Chandrayangutta and Malakpet.
However, Dana Kishore said it was decided to take the help of local public representatives, police and traffic departments in this regard as land acquisition and property procurement had become a major obstacle.
In the case of land acquisition, GHMC project wing officers and town planning officials should organise a coordination meeting with local police, revenue officials, and plan how to go about land acquisition. He also said GHMC was ready to release crores of rupees for land acquisition in Old City for the roads of Fateh Darwaza and Dood Bowli.
