Police seize 358 kgs ganja, six held
Visakhapatnam: Police seized 358 kgs ganja packets right in the heart of the city-- Appughar. Sharing details with the media here on Saturday, Commissioner of Police R K Meena said the transportation of ganja from Agency areas to other places was carried out by packing them in suitcases and bags.
A total of six, who were involved in illegal transportation of contraband, were arrested. Of them, two were identified as juveniles, including a girl. The CP said that while Alex from Kerala was absconding, the rest of the gang members were from Odisha.
Mini Pradhan, Binu Ravindhar and Asmani Chinchhani were among the accused. It is learnt that the gang was operating from the house sans any ventilation to avoid ganja smell emanating from the residence.
The CP said good amount of sanitation cleansers were also used to mislead the neighbours and care was taken by the accused to avoid suspicion. Four suitcases, four bags, five cell phones and a cash worth Rs 8,250 were seized by the police along with the sachets of ganja.
