Murder mystery cracked, 3 held in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: A woman was arrested in the city on Monday on the charge of killing her husband, who was working in the Indian Army. According to the police, two others were also taken into custody in connection with the case.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, City Police Commissioner R K Meena said D Jyothi, married to an army employee Satish Kumar of Maddilapalem in 2010 and the couple have two children. Satish Kumar was staying away from the city on job purpose and used to come to the city now and then.
Jyothi allegedly developed illicit relationship with another person Bharat. Her husband, who suspected the fidelity, questioned her about the affair during his recent visit to the city. This made Jyothi to hatch a plot to eliminate her husband with the help of Bharat Kumar.
According to the CP, the woman mixed sleeping pills with alcohol and gave it to Satish Kumar and when he slipped into sleep, she and Bharat allegedly strangled him to death using a dupatta on August 18.
To mislead the police, she projected it as a suicide and informed the police about her husband's death. The police, after investigation, arrested Jyothi, Bharat Kumar and another person involved in the case.
