Karimnagar: The Karimnagar police have busted the murder mystery of intermediate student Radhika, which created sensation in the district and arrested Radhika's father Komuraiah for murdering her on February 10.

Inter student Mutha Radhika was found murdered in her house at Venkateswara Colony in Karimnagar on February 10. Speaking to the media here on Monday, Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy explained how the police were deceived and deviated in finding the real murderer.

The CP said that Komuraiah killed his daughter Radhika as he was unable to bear her medical expenses and took away cash and gold from the house. "The accused later spread a fake story that some burglars looted his house and killed Radhika, who tried to stop them."

The CP said that Komuraiah spent large amounts of money on his daughter Radhika, who was suffering from polio, and she recovered from her illness. But Komuraiah thought about lakhs of rupees to be spent for her marriage and decided to kill her, he added.

"On February 10, Komuraiah returned home from work place and pressed a pillow on Radhika's face and slit her throat with a knife. He

then cleaned the knife and blood spots and created a scene that some burglars broke into his house and killed his daughter Radhika," Kamalasan Reddy explained.

The Police Commissioner said that later Komuraiah, who came along with his wife, acted as if he does not know anything and tried to deviate police investigation by misleading them.

The police suspected his moves from the beginning and waited until the final rites were completed. They took Komuraiah into custody and started interrogation, who spilled beans. Komuraiah agreed that he killed his daughter Radhika, as he was afraid to bear the burden of her marriage.
