Visakhapatnam: Rajya Sabha MP V Vijayasai Reddy on Sunday described TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu as a 'pessimist' and is clouded with negative thoughts all the time.

After paying rich floral tributes to Champion of Telugu and freedom fighter Potti Sreeramulu on the occasion his death anniversary, the MP alleged that Naidu did not make any effort to develop the state during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

On the contrary, the MP stated that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched several developmental works and welfare schemes within six months of becoming Chief Minister.

"Unable to digest the growing popularity of the Chief Minister among the masses, Chandrababu Naidu is launching a 'misinformation' campaign and trying to hinder developmental activities by filing cases in the court and getting a stay. It is unfortunate that a person of that stature is stooping to this level.

There is a need to think positively and not try to find fault at every step the government takes," he emphasised. Further, the MP appealed to the Opposition party leaders not to politicise every measure taken by the State government, including the transfers of bureaucrats.

Elaborating about the Amaravati capital, Vijaya Sai Reddy said a decision would be taken after considering the report submitted by the expert committee on the capital. Responding on the municipal elections, the MP added it would be soon announced by the Chief Minister.

Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, VMRDA Chairman Dronamraju Srinvasa Rao, MP M V V Satyanarayana, District Collector V Vinay Chand and YSRCP leader K K Raju, among others accompanied the MP to pay tributes to the statue of Potti Sreeramulu at Beach Road.
