MP Reddappa assures to develop Chittoor Railway Station
Chittoor: MP N Reddappa said that steps will be initiated to develop Chittoor Railway Station and it is proposed to take up development works with an estimated cost of Rs 4.5 cr. The works include foot over bridge, setting up of lifts and platform extension.
Addressing the media on Saturday, he said that he had already presented a memorandum to Yadav, Chairman , Indian Railway Board relating to the development of all railway stations in Chittoor district.
He said there was a proposal to introduce a new train from Chittoor to Chennai via Katpadi. There was a proposal for extending Venkatadri Express from Chittoor to Kuppam.
The YCP MPs of the district will exert pressure on Central government for establishing Balaji Railway Division in Tirupati," he said. Reddappa said that that he will release MP funds for providing amenities at Chittoor Railway station if needed.
Participating in the press conference , Alok Tiwari, Divisional Railway Manager of Guntakal said that instructions were given to construct second foot over bridge at Chittoor Railway station with an out lay of Rs.1.5 cr. Lifts will be erected on first and second plat forms by spending Rs.1 cr. Extension of two plat forms will be taken up at a cost Rs.2 cr. Chittoor MLA A Srinivasulu and others were present.
