Kadapa: Action Plan for AP High Graded Steels

Kadapa: Here is good news for people of the district as the administration has intensified the efforts for the construction of AP High Grade Steels Ltd which is popularly known as Kadapa Steel Plant(KSP) in the district.

District Collector CH. Harikiran who held a crucial meeting with AP High Grade Ltd Managing Director Manmohan, Chairman Madhusudhan Reddy, Principal advisor to the government on industries Rojali Veera Reddy, has announced important constructions related to the KSP.

It was decided to construct the main compound wall around the 3,000 acres of land allocated to the KSP at Sunnapurallapalle of Jammalamadugu Mandal.

Roads, Power supply, water facility, Main Entrance Gate, Second Gate, etc infrastructure facilities were decided to complete under war foot manner.

Related to the construction of Main Plant it was decided to establish 33KV Substation, and also a procedure was adopted to draw power from outside 11K. V. Substations, for internal power needs.

A long pipeline has to be constructed from Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant(RTPP) to draw the water from Mylavaram Reservoir for project needs.

When contacted by Hans India district collector CH. Harikiran has said actually it was proposed to begins the KSP works in the month of March. But due to COVID-19 menace, there was little bit delay in executing project works. "Works will begins immediately and I am sure KSP will be completed within 3 years as per schedule," he said.

The KSP which was incorporated as AP HIGH Grade limited is one of the major promises made at the time bifurcation of the unified state of AP.

It was aimed to provide direct and indirect employment for 25,000 people in the district. After YSR Congress government emerged to the power in 2019 elections, chief minister YSJagan Mohan Reddy laid foundation for AP High Grade Steels Limited on 23 rd December 2019 with the investment of Rs 15,000 crores producing 3 million tones iron per Annum
