Fitness checks continue, 10 buses seized

Guntur: Transport Department officials have been conducting vehicle fitness checks on the occasion of the reopening of schools here on Tuesday after summer vacation. They seized 10 buses for failing to fulfill the fitness norms and booked cases.

They booked cases against owners of four buses. So far, they seized 48 buses. Deputy Transport Commissioner G Rajaratnam informed that the officials have been conducting fitness tests. If the managements of the school buses fail to produce the required documents, they will book cases and take stern action.
