This one episode is solid. But not because of the writing but because of the acting talents of the actors in ensemble. Still the issues with all the characters remain to be going nowhere but there is certain improvement over the course of time from the first three.
This one episode is solid. But not because of the writing but because of the acting talents of the actors in ensemble. Still the issues with all the characters remain to be going nowhere but there is certain improvement over the course of time from the first three. While it tries to be more relentless, it doesn't give characters enough to make us feel for them.
It feels like some of the characters are not even bothered about the main plotline as in order give them more to deal with, separate reasons to come up with the obvious decision in the end, writers deviated too much. Madeline gets more part to play but still her character doesn't completely involve in the main line.
Celeste and Mary Louise fight seems to have been set but to give both of them equal reasons to fight, writing again flaunders from not being able to get the main drama going. Even Zoe Kravitz and her mother character are given a kind of drama that just seems forced for the characters than deep, as they thought to go for.
Somehow, even though every plotline seems to have some kind of value on paper it doesn't shine as a whole. Actors gave their best to the high dramatic moments and hence, the show seems watchable but the solid content that made many fans of the show, doesn't remain it's strong point.
