Saffronites steal the show in Mahbubnagar
Mahbubnagar: With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership at the Sate-level giving a call to lay siege to all the district collectorates across the State as a mark of protest against the State government's failure in the recent Intermediate results goof-up, the BJP activists in Gadwal, Narayanpet, Mahbubnagar and Nagarkurnool districts conducted protest rallies and tried to lay siege to the district collectorates on Tuesday.
However, the alert police stopped the BJP activists in the middle and arrested them and averted any kind of untoward incidents across the district.
In Narayanpet district, BJP mandal in-charge Nagurao Namoji, along with his supporters, staged a protest in front of Narayanpet district collectorate. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the State government had terribly failed in managing the Board of Intermediate and therefore, it must immediately sack Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy and take necessary action against the officials who have shown utter negligence. He also demanded booking of cases against them under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code as the Board officials are responsible for the death of 23 innocent Intermediate students who had committed suicide.
Earlier, the BJP activists in Gadwal also conducted a protest at the city centre junction and burnt the effigy of the State government and demanded justice for the Intermediate students. They demanded the government to immediately arrest all those involved in the matter and take necessary action against them.
The protest by BJP activists in Nagarkurnool, Mahbubnagar and Wanaparthy district passed off peacefully as the police intervened early and arrested those who tried to create flutter at the district collectorates.
