Jagtial: The only State government in the country, which is helping poor parents of girl children by sanctioning Rs 1,00,116 for performing their marriages by introducing Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes, said MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar.

He distributed cheques under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme to about 95 beneficiaries and also sarees purchased from his pocket in Jagtial town on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Sanjay Kumar said that understanding the problems of poor parents, who have daughters, the State government introduced Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes and is investing Rs 1,800 crore every year for these two schemes.Unlike any other government in the country, the TRS government is striving hard for the welfare of all sections of people present in the State by introducing various innovative schemes, he added. The government will take necessary steps for handing over the cheques to the beneficiaries under these two schemes, if they apply 30 days before the marriage, he informed. There is no scope for middlemen in the selection of beneficiaries, he added. The beneficiaries should not believe any such persons, who lure them of allotment of schemes. All those eligible and applied will get the cheques under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes, he assured. Later, the MLA handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh compensation to each of the family members of Pannala Damodar Reddy, resident of Lakshmipur village and Taralla Padma, resident of Thimmapur village of Jagtial mandal, who died of electric shock.

Municipal chairperson B Shoba, MPP Gangaram, PACS chairman Mahipal Reddy, councillors G Harish, V Renuka, Mogili, Rajesh, Naveen, Dharma Raju ATMA chairman Raji Reddy, B Mahendar, Lakshman, Satti Reddy, Shankar and Suresh were present along with others.
