Adilabad: Heavy rains lashed several parts of the district on Friday and streams in different mandals began flowing dangerously. With continuous rain in Vankidi mandal, Chikli stream was running in spate and the flood water cut road link to about 20 villages. Agriculture fields on both sides of the stream were inundated and a low-level bridge near Bandkana village was washed away by the flood water. People in the low-lying areas in the mandal faced problems as rain water entered their homes. Areas in Asifabad, Rebbena, Kerameri and other mandals received heavy rainfall

Khammam: Incessant rain threw normal life out of gear at various places in Khammam district on Friday. As Wajedu mandal experienced heavy rainfall, Chekupalli stream was flowing above the normal level. With the stream overflowing the causeway near Wajedu, vehicular movement to 25 villages was disrupted.

Kinnerasani project in the district was receiving steady inflows from its catchment areas. The irrigation officials started releasing excess water from the project by lifting 26 gates. Vyra, Kusumanchi, Tirumalayapalem, Konijarla, Illendu and Kothagudem mandals received 6 cm rainfall each while Khammam received 5 cm rainfall. Tallada, Chandrugonda, Errupalem, Chintakani, Tekulapalli and Madhira mandal experienced 3 cm rainfall each.
