52-Year-Old Man Killed After Speeding Thar Hits Motorcycle In Faridabad

The body of a 52-year-old man was found dead when his motorcycle was shot by the speeding Mahindra Thar in Sikri flyover in Faridabad on Friday evening, police said.

The victim, who was living in Palwal, was employed in a printing company in Ballabhgarh. A preliminary investigation by police found that Kumar was driving home to Palwal when the accident occurred.

Officials say the accident occurred from 7 pm to 7:15 pm on Friday. Kumar is allegedly knocked off his motorcycle after it was hit by the Thar, which was thrown across the road, police said.

Kumar has been severely injured in the crash. The man was rushed to the nearby private hospital where doctors pronounced him dead for which local residents were held responsible by the police.

After the crash the driver allegedly left his damaged SUV at the scene and ran away. The police then seized the car and during their investigation found out who the driver was.

Police said the suspect's family had told them that they would take the driver to authorities Monday.

Kumar's family had made a complaint to Ballabhgarh police station which had been duly registered as an FIR on Saturday. The case is related to Section 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) that pertains to rash driving and negligent driving causing death.

Kumar's body was sent for a post mortem examination on Saturday, police said. Later in the day, it was brought back to his family, after the body had been autopsied.

An inquiry into what happened in these circumstances and the part the driver might have played is continuing.
