Warangal: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) cadres staged a road roko at Nehru Centre here on Tuesday, protesting the alleged assault on BRS women MLAs inside the Telangana Assembly. Wearing black towels and holding placards, party workers raised slogans against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy before marching to the Ambedkar statue and submitting a memorandum.

Former minister Satyavathi Rathod condemned the alleged manhandling of former home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, and questioned the ruling party’s response. She also criticised Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and questioned Minister Seethakka for not condemning the alleged incident involving fellow women MLAs.

The protest was attended by former MP Kavitha, former MLA Shankar Naik and other BRS leaders and workers. BRS women MLAs have alleged that police pulled their hair and sarees and choked them while preventing their entry into the Assembly.
