Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology in Duvvada successfully concludes the national-level 'Vignan’s Grand Prix 2026' Go-Karting Championship, with SRKR Engineering College bagging the winner's title.

Visakhapatnam: Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) concluded ‘Vignan’s Grand Prix 2026’, a national level Go-Karting Championship.
Organised by the department of mechanical engineering of the institution from September 30 to October 3, at the VIIT campus, Duvvada, the four-day motorsport extravaganza brought together nine teams from across Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, including VIIT, Duvvada; SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram; ANITS, Visakhapatnam; Aditya University, Surampalem; AITAM, Tekkali; Aditya Polytechnic, Surampalem; NSRIT, Visakhapatnam; and Centurion University, Odisha.
The event, held under the theme ‘Where engineering meets adrenaline,’ featured technical inspection and scrutineering, static rounds, brake tests, dynamic rounds and endurance races.
Participants demonstrated their skills in acceleration, handling, braking, endurance racing and fastest-lap performance, combining engineering knowledge with practical motorsport experience.
Markendaya team from SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram, emerged as the winner, while team Vega from ANITS, Visakhapatnam, secured the runner-up position.
CEO and Managing Director, PharmaZell India Anant Barbadikar attended as chief guest, and CEO, Centre for Advanced Materials, AMTZ Santosh Balivada was the guest of honour. They appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to develop practical engineering skills, innovation and a spirit of technological excellence.
Girish Bhiogade, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering; J Sudhakar, Principal; V Madhusudhana Rao, Rector; and S Ramababu, head, department of mechanical engineering, congratulated the winners, participants and organising team for the successful conduct of the national-level championship.
