The Indian embassy in Muscat, Oman, will be rescuing and repatriating the city women who have been cheated by agents
Hyderabad: The Indian embassy in Muscat, Oman, will be rescuing and repatriating the city women who have been cheated by agents.
According to Amjedullah Khan, an MBT leader, who took up the matter with Union Ministry of External Affairs, Kouser Banu, who used to run a beauty parlour in Hyderabad, has been facing financial difficulties since lockdown. She was promised a job as a beautician in Muscat by a woman agent.
"After Kouser Banu reached Muscat, she found to her shock that there was no job of a beautician and is being forced to marry a physically handicapped and aged Arab. As such, the agent is harassing her. She wants to return home," he said.
Kouser Banu made a video appeal to Amjed Ullah Khan who raised this issue with Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Minister for External Affairs Govt, following which the Indian Embassy in Muscat got in touch with Banu and assured to repatriate her.

The issue was highlighted by Khan who took up the matter with Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar after which the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Indian Consulate in Dubai swung into action and with help of Dubai Police rescued them all. Meanwhile, Hyderabad police also took note of this case and arrested the local travel agent and sent them to jail.
On reaching Hyderabad, the rescued women along with their families reached MBT office in Chanchalguda and profusely thanked Amjedullah Khan for going to their rescue and ensuring their safe return to the city.
