Health minister orders probe into copying incidents at Nandyal
In Short
Seeks report from medical and health secretary within a week on the alleged incident in Govt Medical College in Nandyal

Health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav
Amaravati: Health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav ordered a comprehensive inquiry into alleged copying incidents during examinations at the Government Medical College in Nandyal and directed the health and medical education department secretary to submit a detailed report within a week.
The minister took serious note of the incidents and sought details about the action taken by the college authorities and Dr NTR University of Health Sciences after an earlier copying incident came to light in August.
He directed officials to examine whether the first incident was properly investigated and whether timely and appropriate action was taken against those responsible. He also asked the department to identify any lapses in the handling of the matter.
The minister instructed the secretary to conduct a thorough inquiry into the circumstances that led to the copying incidents. The investigation should establish where lapses occurred in the conduct of examinations, how the incident took place and the method allegedly used for copying.
He also directed officials to examine whether there were any shortcomings in the manner in which officials of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences responded to the first incident.
The minister said the inquiry report should clearly identify the role of those responsible and recommend measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future.
He emphasised that examination procedures in medical colleges must be conducted with utmost integrity and transparency, as any malpractice could have serious implications for the quality of medical education and healthcare delivery.
