Nandi Film Festival Notification To Be Released In Two Days: Minister Durgesh

Going with the history of the prestigious Nandi Awards, they were presented annually in the undivided Andhra Pradesh by the state government honouring excellence in Telugu cinema, theatre, and television, as well as lifetime achievements in Indian cinema. Nandi being the scared bull who serves Lord Shiva, is always considered as a cultural and historical symbol for all the Telugu people.

But after the state bifurcation, the awards have remained stalled since 2016. Of late, the Andhra Pradesh Cinematography Minister, Kandula Durgesh has officially announced that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has given the approval to revive the Nandi Awards. So, after a long wait, the awards are once again set to return, bringing a wave of excitement among Telugu cinema lovers and artists.

Speaking about the developments, the Minister Kandula Durgesh revealed that the notification for the Nandi Drama Festival will be released within the next two days. He also stated that the prestigious Nandi Awards will be presented next year. Along with these awards, he also revealed that the ‘Nandi Drama Festival’ will be organized every year on the birth anniversary of renowned social reformer and playwright Kandukuri Veeresalingam.

Well, he also added that the Telugu plays from the other states will also be given an opportunity to participate in this festival.
