Tirupati: Emphasis on protection of rights at SPMVV
The 70th anniversary of the adoption of Constitution of India has been celebrated by various organisations and institutions on Tuesday.
Tirupati: The 70th anniversary of the adoption of Constitution of India has been celebrated by various organisations and institutions on Tuesday.
Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) Law Department organised an exhibition on the salient features of Indian Constitution which was inaugurated by In-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof V Uma. She called upon the students to act responsibly by respecting the Constitution.
A meeting was also organised at varsity auditorium in which Fourth Additional District Judge G Rama Gopal has highlighted the importance of Indian Constitution and its Preamble. Registrar Prof DM Mamatha has explained about the fundamental rights of the citizens and stressed that every individual should have responsibility in preserving these rights.
Social Sciences Dean Prof K Murugaiah and Law Department Head Prof NB Chandrakala also spoke on the occasion. Students organised a rally in the campus on the occasion. At Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP), Prof V Muralidhara Sharma, presided over the meeting and recalled that stalwarts like Dr BR Ambedkar, Justice Alladi Kuppuswami Iyer and others were instrumental in bringing Indian Constitution in a befitting manner.
Chief Guest and Tirupati Bar Association President B Narahari Reddy observed that the importance of our Constitution is to be known by everyone. Academic Affairs Dean Prof Rani Sadasiva Murthy, faculty members, programme Officers, research scholars, NSS volunteers and others participated.
Tirupati MLA B Karunakar Reddy has offered floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar at RTC Central bus station. He recalled the contribution of Ambedkar in providing the greatest Constitution to the country.
The Political Science and Economics departments of SV University have jointly organised Constitution Day celebrations at the Economics gallery. Vice-Principal Prof BV Muralidhar, Prof G Savaraiah and Prof D Krishmaurthy spoke on the occasion. Dr YS Kishore, Dr I Subramanyam, Dr K Ganesh babu, Dr N Sreeramulu, Dr Prathap and others took part.
At a function organised at Tirupati railway station, Station Director S Naga Ramana Sarma read out the Preamble of Indian Constitution and administered the oath to the staff. A rally was held by the staff of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) and other staff. Station Manager K Rajendra Prasad, Health Officer Hemaraj Meena, CCI Parmaeswar Raju, RPF CI B Saidaiah and others took part in the programme.
